How Adcetris Works
Adcetris (brentuximab vedotin) is used to help treat certain types of lymphoma, including Hodgkin lymphoma that has not been treated before. The medication is used when the cancer cells have a protein named CD30 attached to their surface. When used, Adcetris targets the CD30 protein, which in turn helps interfere with the growth of the cancer cells.
It can be used to treat those with Hodgkin lymphoma who have received an autologous stem cell transplant, or received other cancer medicines, and the cancer has come back or not responded.
