Do I Qualify For My Jakafi (Ruxolitinib) Medication With Prescription Hope?

Important Safety Information & Side Effects:

  • Do not take Jakafi if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • Serious side effects of Jakafi may include low blood counts, risk of infection, skin cancers, and increases in cholesterol.
  • Some patients taking Jakafi have developed certain non-melanoma skin cancers. Notify your doctor right away if you have any new or changing skin lesions.
  • Take this medication exactly as it is prescribed by your doctor. Do not change your dose or stop taking Jakafi without first talking to your healthcare provider.
  • The most common side effects may include low platelet or red blood cell counts, bruising, dizziness, and headache.
  • Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or planning on getting pregnant. Patients should not take Jakafi during pregnancy.
  • Do not breastfeed during treatment with Jakafi and for at least 2 weeks after the final dose. Talk to your doctor about the best options for feeding your child.
  • Before starting treatment with Jakafi, let your doctor know about your medical history. Certain conditions such as TB, liver or kidney problems, have had high cholesterol, or hepatitis B may make taking this medication unsafe.
  • Before taking Jakafi, let your doctor know about any other medications you are taking or if you start taking new medications. Certain drugs, when mixed with Jakafi, may cause adverse side effects or may impact the overall effectiveness of the medication.
  • If you begin experiencing a severe allergic reaction or prolonged side effects that are persistent, then call your healthcare provider and seek medical attention right away.
