Do I Qualify For My Xultophy Medication With Prescription Hope?

Xultophy: Prescribed To Individuals Fighting Type 2 Diabetes

Xultophy is a combination of 2 medications that are to treat type 2 diabetes. This is an injectable medication used to lower blood sugar. Treatment should be combined with a balanced diet and exercise.

Important Safety Information & Side Effects:

  • One of the medications used in Xultophy has been known to cause thyroid tumors. Notify your doctor if you notice a lump or swelling around your neck.
  • Do not take Xultophy if you are allergic to insulin degludec, liraglutide, or any of the other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medication if you have low blood sugar.
  • This medication is not for patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • It is not known Xultophy is safe and effective for children.
  • Let your doctor know if you are pregnant, have plans to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. The effects of this medication on an unborn baby or nursing child are not yet known.
  • Serious side effects can occur which may include pancreatitis, low blood sugar, kidney problems, gallbladder problems, low potassium levels, heart failure, and allergic reactions.
  • The most common side effects may include stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, headache, nausea, diarrhea, increased blood levels of lipase, and upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Xultophy affects you.
  • Your dose may need to be changed if you have changes to your lifestyle such as changes to levels of exercise, diet, or illnesses.
  • Talk to your doctor about your medical history including if you have or had pancreas problems, kidney or liver problems, heart failure, or severe stomach problems.
  • Let your doctor know about any other medications you are taking, especially if you are taking one called GLP-1 RA.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you begin to have an allergic reaction.

Is there a Xultophy generic available?

  • There is currently not a generic version of Xultophy available in the United States. Fraudulent online pharmacies may try to sell you an illegal Xultophy generic, but it may be harmful. Ask your healthcare provider for advice when it comes to purchasing your medication.
